Thank you for your comment, Zahra! I totally know where you’re coming from—mental health can definitely be a tough thing to talk about with friends and family. And I agree that it can be so meaningful to hear about other people’s experiences on the topic. I really appreciate you sharing a bit about yours here. All the best to you.

Same as the first comment, I started considering therapy several days ago and after reading the title I just clicked and I’m not disappointed. It means a lot to hear other people’s experience on this topic since this is a sensitive and vulnerable issue to consult about with friends and family. Although they can be really supportive at times, they’re just humans like us who might not be quite familiar with the subject of therapy and might take the fact that we sense a need for therapy personally. I hope that soon I too find a way to calm my mind which interestingly I’ve been doing for the past three years through reading online articles but nothing can replace the one-by-one eye to eye experience with a psychologist/therapist. Thank you and I wish you good luck on your journey<3

Major kudos to you for taking the steps and then writing such a lovely transparent post on your experience to help others too. Thank You & All the best to you!

Amanda! I’m so, so glad you stumbled upon this post, and that it resonated with you. And I hope you do make that appointment—it sounds like you’re already leaning that way anyway. If you have any Qs or ever want to talk about it, feel free to reach out (I very much so mean that!).

I was just discussing possibly going to therapy to my husband *last night* and stumbled across this article in my feed reader this morning.
Thank you so much for writing this. It may give me the push to actually make that appointment I’ve probably been needing for years.
Hugs <3
