We’re childfree by choice. I love your take that this is just a chapter with the kids at this age. Funny enough, I think about my whole life in chapters. Once you remove the assumption of children from the equation, life feels a lot less structured and formulaic. So thinking “this is our current chapter” is comforting — and allows for so many future adventures! Thanks for the thoughtful responses. It sounds like you’re a wonderful example of what real love looks like, for your kids and for we readers 🙂
