I read with my colleagues in https://hghtherapydoctor.us and the discussion that arose after reading was very constructive, because you know, they are all doctors so they know what they are talking about

I’m Jo and I’m recovered from thirty years of depression and anxiety and I’m rebuilding my creativity and life and recording it on my blog Creating My Odyssey. I’m also sharing my experiences to try and give hope to other sufferers of depression and anxiety. Depression is the most treatable of mental health issues. Thank you so much for featuring this. The more written about mental health the better.

Also, thank you for listing great resources! I have been trying to gather information for my social media accounts. I am not a mental health expert, but I live with trying to maintain my mental health. I worked as a nurse for over 25 years, learning mental illness and health in addition to of course, physical illness and health. I want to disseminate information that will be helpful and not all I find seems to work that way.

I came across more than half a dozen class mates that had committed suicide in their teens. I went to school, had classes, conversations with, one I actually went on a date with, No one knows what a person could be battling with in their minds, we need to as a society stop the “stigma” related to mental health care issues, think of lives that could be spared! Not to mention the heartache.

I recently lost a family member to suicide, and I really appreciate the awareness you bring to mental illness and suicide.

Exactly this. I even wrote on my blog about how difficult hotlines can be, though my bent was a little different and more based on personal experience.

This really touched my heart because I come from a country with highest mental illness rates on the planet and most of my friends have been through depression or other serious mental illnesses, so I know the struggle. You want to help them but there’s really nothing you can do. Except be there if and when they need you.
I also became accustomed to suicide at a very young age; in Finland everyone knows some1 who has killed themselves. I unfortnately know many. And because it’s all so bad and the restricting cultural norms don’t make things any easier we tend to turn to black humour. Like, reeally black humour. It doesn’t help, but at least we don’t pretend that these problems don’t exist…
