I’m very excited for this month’s theme! I’m a big advocate for being an individual within a group. How boring would life be if we were all the same?!

Even if it feels like a risk at the time, or more uncomfortable than the more "traditional" path, having the confidence to trust in that internal voice can lead us down the most incredible paths sometimes. I was on track to be one of the first in my family to graduate from college when I decided to drop out. Not because it was too hard, or because I was stupid, but because I trusted the voice inside me that said “I love learning, and I can learn better and in line with where I’m going if I create my own curriculum.” I traded in the comfort of being congratulated for my academic pursuits at family events for the excitement of my own path and day-to-day life.

Some people sacrifice their own needs/wants for the comfort of having an awesome title to tell other people – that trade off doesn’t seem worth it to me. Excited to see this similar thread of self trust, and separating our value from what we do, in this season’s W&D focus.
