We just moved into our 1890’s home in Athens, PA.. and our next door neighbors who have been here for years said it was. I did so much research and found out that it was! The woodwork in your home looks identical to mine.. which is why I ask. Back then sears made it possible for the working man to get a home at an affordable price. They are hard to come by though! You should look into it. I find that so interesting how sears was ahead of their time back then. Basically they delivered you wood and handed you a hand saw and assembly blueprints to put it all together.

Hi, Gina! I’m so glad to hear this space has become such a source of inspiration for you. We checked our records but unfortunately we’re not sure of the exact stain. The folks who sanded and treated the woodwork applied it, and it was a standard water-based finish.

I agree. It looks gorgeous, I love the clean look with natural wood trim. However, having just finished reading “Evicted” this week it’s disheartening to read that it will be used as an Airbnb rather than a home.
