I had our second baby 2 months ago and my body did NOT bounce back the way it did the first time. I currently fit into *1* pair of non-maternity pants, which I purchased a few months into this pregnancy. I gained tons of stretch marks on my torso and thighs along with approximately 1000 new cellulite dimples. The mirror is not my friend right now. But – thank you so much for helping me realize this – my body IS! It has carried me through an effing pandemic! Ryan and W+D, I am so grateful to you for spreading the concept of body neutrality. It has instantaneously helped me reframe my love and respect and admiration for my body.

Ms. Alexis and All My Sister Queens;
Celebrate being a woman, no matter what size or shape you are! Accept yourself as is! Take care of who you are and keep as healthy and happy as long as you can…you are worth it! Don’t ever stop believing you are special. You are FEMALE. We are beautiful exactly as we are all the time.

“Acceptance is a never ending process” – That’s the truth. I’m slowly learning this new lens of accepting my body, but some days are easier than others for sure. I appreciate you taking the time to read so much.

Molly I love these ideas so much – these are all wonderful things to celebrate your body for – and a good sense of humor is always great too 🙂

Hi Shirley – thanks for reading my truth; don’t all of our body issues seem to start as teenagers? I really appreciate your kind words.

I have tried tricking myself into loving my body but I’m too honest to make it work. This inspires me to celebrate it in an authentic way; I’ll embrace that it built two perfect babies, let’s me explore nature, and that it allows me to not take myself too seriously (I happen to appreciate some mild self deprecation as my body gets closer to 40). Thank you for writing this!

Thank you for your candid perspective.

How could I let myself go?”
You wrote my life. We are so hard on ourselves, and for what? I have been unknowingly following the body neutrality concept during this pandemic and forcing myself not to focus on the ‘flaws’ but to acknowledge all the working parts. Acceptance is a never ending process. Loved reading this, first time here, I’ll be back.

I also struggle with body image, as a I know a lot of people do, and appreciating the way it moved and housed me also helped me see it in a non- negative light.
