This is a very interesting article. Thanks for sharing this. I understand these women, and somewhere in their stories I found myself during a pandemic. I live with a guy and our job allows us to work from home, so I spent a lot of time with the guy in the same room. But when the pandemic began, I had no choice, and this lack of choice influenced my mood.

Thanks for your comment, Jo! I’m glad you were able to find ways to keep perspective and stay connected even during the past few months. Take care!

Thanks for your comment, Connie! I live alone too and wanted to make sure that scenario was represented here (it’s something I don’t hear discussed often either!). It is amazing how much a perspective can shift over the course of a few months. I’m glad you’ve found what works for you for now. Take care!

Thanks for your comment, Odessa! I’m glad you enjoyed the post and seeing how others have been handling the time at home (I always find it interesting too!).

It wasn’t too hard because I have been alone for years. For some time, the daily walk to the mailbox was my only outing! Of course, I missed seeing my family and friends but we talked on the phone and texted to keep up with each other. So glad that things are opening up a bit now!

I only know 2 people that have been living in total isolation the last few months so most of my friends can’t relate to how lonely it is. But like Elizabeth I am now settling into a routine and don’t feel as lonely as I did when quarantine started. I’m thankful that I have a small yard. I know that digging in the dirt and enjoying the peacefulness of nature have kept me from going any more crazy than I already am.
What I really miss are hugs! I used get lots of hugs but I think those days are gone for a long time.

I can’t even imagine the complexity and sensitivity and consideration that goes into how a dual-family blends, and I think these pronoun/indefinite article grammatical choices exemplify that matter. Very interesting.
