The past 14 weeks have been consumed with fear and apprehension that I will loose another little heartbeat, and I haven’t let myself feel joy that I was actually able to get pregnant. I am just now to the point where I am conciously trying to re-wire my brain to let go of those negative feelings and focus on my miracle baby.

The image you guys used is a photograph of me, taken while pregnant. It accompanied a post that I wrote at the time about taking care of yourself during pregnancy. I’d be grateful if you could update the photo credit with a link to the original story. https://readingmytealeaves.com/2016/11/baby-proof-pregnancy-pampering.html All my best.

I’m 18 weeks along and have surpassed my longest pregnancy of 9 weeks; however, I am not relieved. Most days, I’m confused, anxious, and downright depressed. In fact, this entire journey of loss and pregnancy has been a mismatch of how I FEEL I should be feeling and what I am actually feeling. This is only compounded by what other people tell me I should be feeling. Throughout all of this, I’m trying to give myself grace. This is my journey, no one else’s. Change is hard, and this whole experience has brought about the biggest transformation of my life. It is forcing me to be stronger, wiser, and kinder, and is shaping me into the person I am meant to be.

My story is so similar, except the part where I’ve lost three babies in total instead of one…I haven’t managed to ever really let go, but at the same time I’m utterly thrilled when I hold my two children in my arms and for a few moments indulge in being present at that very precious moment of ours.
